The brand JPD – Japanese tradition since 1819
The roots of JPD date back to 1819: In Japan, the Yoshida family began breeding ornamental fish. Over the generations, this experience developed into a combination of koi culture, food development, and technical knowledge.
From ornamental fish farming to feed development
1819 – The Yoshida family begins breeding ornamental fish in Japan. After 1945 – based on experience in fish farming, further focuses have developed, including the development of feed. 1960s – The floating feed „Swimmy“ becomes part of the JPD history. 2001 – Yamato Nishiki comes to market. 2014 – Shori and Fujizakura appear in the documented product chronicle. 2018 – Shogun adds to the range.
Japanese knowledge for co-feeding
JPD combines the tradition of ornamental fish farming with specialized feed types for different needs: Fujiyama as the main feed, Yamato with a focus on color, Shori for growth phases, Shogun for changing conditions, and Fujizakura for special feeding situations. The selection of the appropriate food type depends, among other things, on water temperature, feeding behavior, the size of the koi, and pond conditions. Product information and the JPD food advisor can help with orientation. The family history and the development of „Swimmy“ are documented in the commemorative documents of JPD.
